DREAMers Program challenged by lack of funding and renewals
The Jubilee Center's DREAMers Program, under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Process (DACA) of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Department, continues in a consultative phase right now as we seek additional funding resources to help more young people apply for the program.
Here is a brief outline of the DREAMers Program:
DREAMers are young people who were berought to this country as children, and this is the only home they know.
The DREAMers Program will collaborate with the DACA applicants themselves, their families, members of the community, and other supporters to guide the applicants through the application process to gain the documents that will allow the DREAMers to continue their education, to work, and to live without the constant fear of being deported.
The DREAMers Program will require the DACA applicants to pay for the filing and legal fees, which signifies their personal commitment and financial investment in the process.
The DREAMers Program will coordinate participatory fundraising by the DREAMers and their supporters to help pay for the filing and legal fees.
