Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) Pilot Program
Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) is a way of building sustainable community connections by identifying the assets in the local area. These assets are the skills and passions of local residents, the associations in which individuals participate, the institutions in the neighborhood, and the local economy. ABCD is a tool to connect each of these categories of assets to create strong, sustainable community life for the future.
We are using ABCD to learn and engage more deeply with our community in North Denver. We want to know what people are doing to make it a better place for them. Better can mean anything: more beautiful, more hospitable, more inclusive, more fun. Our project involves meeting people around the neighborhood, learning what brought them to the area, what they enjoy doing, and how they interact with the people around them. From there, we work to connect people we see having similar interests, passions, or concerns about the community.
If you are interested in learning more about the project or would like to meet us in person to share your own story about the community, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
